Province - Chiang Rai

Chiang Rai...Thailand's most northern province, is about 829 kilometers from Bangkok . Its area, mostly covered with mountains, is 11,678 square kilometers.The area is almost entirely mountains. Administration is divided into 16 Amphoes and 2 King Amphoes : Muang, Chiang Kong, Chiang Saen, Mae Chan, Mae Sai, Mae Saruai, Pa Daet, Phan, Thoeng, Wiang Pa Pao, Wiang Chai, Phaya Mengrai, Wiang Kaen and King Amphoe Mae Fa Luang, Khun Tan, Mae Lao. King Amphoe chaing rung and king amphoe Doi luang.

>> Khu Khaew

Khu Khaew Cave
This cave is located across the north side of pagoda. In the entrance to the cave has been installed wih Buddha images. Following the path to enter the cave, about 80 meters long . This cave was used for the monk practices of meditation many years ago, and there are now meny Buddha Images made by Krubaboonchum Yanasanvaro. This gate of cave has covered with stalactites and stalagmites. It is named Khukaew because there are a shimmering light on the stone.You must to take the a flashlight inside too.

>> Night Bazaar

Night Bazaar... Is located on the Phaholyothin Road. Near Chiangrai bus station. It’s the place for shopping for local produce and souvenirs such as clothes ,jewelry ,bags, curtains. All of which is hamdmade and at a cheap price .

>> Mae Fah Luang

Saun Mae Fah Luang( Garden )....
Saun Mae Fah Luang is located in the front of Doi Tung Royal Palace and has an area of about 10 rai. Designed to follow the local rope style it uses red and white as well as many kinds of flowers and plants. There are not only many flowers but also a wayside shelter too see the scenery too . You can also find a souvenir that has been treated by the Mae Fah Luang foundation . This garden was built by the Tourist Autority Of Thailand it is dedicated to her royal highness the princess mother . The garden is open to visitors daily from 06.00-18.00 hrs.

>> Wat Rong khun

Wat Rong khun ( The Artist Temple ).......
The temple was designed by Mr. Chalermchai Kositpipat, the most popular artist of Thailand. He wishes to build the beautiful artist of a harmonious Lanna cultural as the wall painting and sculpture especially the stucco decorate with the color grasses . The dominant feature of temple is a silver grass church .

>> Sob Ruak

Sob Ruak or Golden Triangle..... in the past was used for the exchange of opium and gold. The most famous attraction is where the borders of three countries; Laos Thailand and Myanmar meet. From this place, the Laotian and Myanma border can be seen accross the Mae Khong and Ruak River respectively. Accommodation is available for tourists who want to stay over night. Boats can be rented for trips along the Khong River.

>> Doi Pha Tang

Doi Pha Tang is part of Doi Pha Mon mountain range between the Thai –Laos border, at the highest piont about 1800 meters above sea level. It’s a point to see a view scene between Thai –Laos especially a beautiful sea of steam as it rises.

>> Pratat Doi Tung

Pratat Doi Tung...... is located on highway number 1149. Pratat Doi Tung is the pagodas which contain the Buddha's relics that ‘s brought from Buddhist Place .This place will be the sacred place for a Buddhist to worship and for ceremonies .
